Welcome to the IR 50/50 Home Page
The San Angelo Gun Club hosts
three IR 50/50 matches per month.
50/50 and FUN-fire official March shoot
at the San Angelo Gun Club
Saturday, March 6, 2010
The weather was cool and there was a light drizzle early and the winds were light and from 4:00 O’clock. We had nine shooters on the line with several of our regulars missing for various good reasons. Four shot 50/50 UL and five shot their factory rifles in the third ever official 50/50 FUN-fire match held in San Angelo. We had four new shooters with us from the silhouette bunch who shot FUN-fire for the first time. They were Matt Hodges, Mark Simon, Casey Parker, and Jessica Simon. Casey and Jessica shot as juniors.
Congratulations go to Rick Shouse, our newest member from Indiana (the state), who shot a 250 with 14X to win match #2. He has a beautiful Bill Calfee rifle and he knows how to shoot it. I believe that this was the first time that all of our UL 50/50 scores from all shooters were above 240 with one being Rick’s 250. We are good!
John Pormann won all three of the FUN-fire matches with 245, 245, and 248. Good shooting John. We forgot to give John his match winning metals, so I am holding all of you to see that he gets three match winner metals at the next shoot.
The main thing is that we all had fun.
On a personal note, I would have have had more fun if I had shot a 250.

“SOTY” or Shooter Of The Year requirements.
From unlimited rules on the 50/50 website.
Unlimited SOTY/ Unlimited Club Champions:
Five Unlimited SOTY matches must be scheduled. Best four out of five agg scores from the five scheduled Unlimited SOTY matches will determine the winners. An agg score is the total of the scores shot for all three targets at one day's match.
A competitor who shoots all five matches will drop his worse total one day agg score. A competitor must shoot at least four matches, shooting three targets at each match, to be eligible.
There will be three "Unlimited Club Champion" titles contested at each club: 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place.
Perfect score is 3000-300x.
The National "Unlimited Shooter of the Year" will be the Unlimited Club Champion 1st place winner with the highest agg score in the country.
In case of a tie, the results of the first SOTY match, beginning with UL-1 target, will be checked. Highest score shot on UL-1 target will win. If a tie still exists, the UL-2 target will be checked for highest score. If tie still exists, the UL-3 target will be checked for highest score. If tie still exists, the results from the second SOTY match, beginning with UL-1 target will be checked and so on.
Further rules and information can be found on the web site.
